The reasons you give may very well be part of the package. Although I am certainly not an expert in this matter, I offer you a link below to a short article that contains what I think may be some cogent reasons why the church at large may be facing this dilemma. Again, these may be reasons, but they are certainly not justifications. The Bible is very clear that sexual intimacy between a man and a woman is a privilege reserved for married couples in a committed lifetime relationship, and this is what the church must teach in order to be consistent with the Word of God. Such excuses as “but everyone is doing it”, “but we are really in love”, “but how else will we know we are compatible”, and “I might lose him if I don’t”, are never biblical justifications.
